Y’all
guessed it! It’s that time of the year again. The holidays
are fast approaching, and I better get my greetings in. Happy
Thanksgiving! Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Winter Solstice! I hope I didn’t
miss any, otherwise I apologize if I did, and let me know.
Just to
highlight some of the fresh upgrades of my work: website change,
(www.mc-images.com),
new photograph size (11 x 14), and more gallery-type display.
I’ve completed several 4 seasons series (mostly 3 of
Central Park, 1 Flat Iron Bldg). This project is meaningful
to me because the transformation reminds me that life is a
cyclic flow of movement. It has an ending and a beginning.
The fall makes way for winter to give life to spring.. Ahh.
nature’s fantasy! More to follow on this project ….
I have
frequently been asked about the color of the photographs and
if these are digital prints. To set the record straight, I
still do the traditional printing from the darkroom. NO DIGITAL
IMAGES. The difference in the quality of the print is that
the digital print is
processed in the inkjet printer, and a closer look reveals
a multitude of dots. The traditional printing is more time
consuming, but produces a higher quality and greater depth
of image.
Oftentimes,
people ask me about my travels when they come to my booth.
Some just stop by to get info or tips about their travel destination/s.
Some offer uplifting comments during these encounters. "I
don’t have to travel far because when I come to your
booth, I feel like I traveled the world through your eyes."
Another inspiring comment was "When I look at your pictures,
I sense your soul."
Take note
that I am leaving on December 17 for my annual explorations,
wanderings, pilgrimage or whatever you call it. I’ll
leave it for the next newsletter to tell you my destination
for the suspense and mystery of it all. If you’re thinking
of giving your loved one a prized picture/s as a holiday gift,
please let me know in advance (before Dec. 12) so I can accommodate
your request. Dare to be original, and make a lasting impression.
Lastly
and most importantly, thanks to all of you for making this
year memorable. Have a safe and joyful celebration! How yuen
(Good luck in Chinese)!
Cheers!
